Hello! Welcome to my blog. Here I will be writing about films, TV shows, and random features that I can’t help putting finger to keyboard about.

This blog will include a variety of things, from writing on current trends in film and TV, future films and TV shows, and looking back to some brilliant and not so brilliant films of old.

Before I go on, I should say something about myself.  My name is Monica, and I am a 21 years old (at the time of writing this) and I have just finished studying for a degree in Film Studies at University of South Wales in Cardiff.

I have been a fan of films since childhood, and also enjoy binging on TV. I stay away from horror, but am not ashamed of admitting a love for rom-coms and chick flicks.

And to finish this little introduction I shall say my top five favourite films – though I have many more I watch time and time again and still love.  Here goes, don’t judge too harshly.

  1. The Princess Bride (1986; Rob Reiner)
  2. 10 Things I Hate About You (1999; Gil Junger)
  3. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001-2003; Peter Jackson)
  4. Moulin Rouge (2001; Baz Lurhmann)
  5. Donnie Darko (2001; Richard Kelly)

I have only one reason for these being my favourite films – I have seen them so many times, and each time I watch them I can find no fault in them. But there are many more I love.

One last thing – It’s called Decent Fellow Films from the line in The Princess Bride:

‘You seem like a decent fellow, I hate to kill you.

You seem like a decent fellow, I hate to die.’

About Monica Jowett

I am a graduate of the University of South Wales, where I studied Film Studies. I write reviews and articles for my own blog and other sites, and spend a lot of my time living and breathing all things film related. I love films and TV. I avoid horror as I am a little too jumpy, but do have an unashamed love for soppy chick-flicks.
